An Appreciation for Big Cities

I never liked being in cities.  For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to live far out in the country.  No cares, no worries, no traffic.  But that all changed when I fell in love with photography.

Now I’m in love with them.  Whether its Philadelphia, or some other city I get to visit to photograph clients, I love them.  I love the lines.  I love the atmosphere.  I love the colors, the pace, the vibe.  I love the buildings, the shadows, the architecture.  I don’t see cities as a mess of cars and people now, i see them as blank – or empty.  A blank canvas.  Open to however I want to view it.  I see things with a lens permanently attached to my eye … figuratively obviously.  I see everything now as a photographer.  And I’ve come to appreciate big cities.

I do however, still like living outside of them ; )

Bethany & Brendan | Philadelphia Photographer

I met Bethany on the dance floor at the reception of a wedding … in Southern California.  She came up to me, asked for a card and said she’d get in contact with me.  She did.  Fast.  So off I went back down to DC to photograph her and her husband, Brendan.  We hit a few spots .. including the monuments .. and even almost got arrested.  Well, not ALMOST .. but I did get booted from the property.  Oh well, we had already finished the session anyway :)

Thanks to Liz for helping me out :)
