In one chapter of the book, she ends up giving out flowers to random people on a walk home and she is amazed to see the reaction she gets from them.

So I thought I’d try this idea on an engagement session.  Part experiment.  Part fun.  All good.

Enter Kristin + Justin.

Honestly, we weren’t sure WHAT to expect.  We knew we were doing something unique when we told the flower store owner what we were planning to do and he gave us a blank stare.  ”So, you are giving these away to strangers?  For free?”  Ha … yes.  That is the intent.  Its amazing we got to a point (in life) where doing something nice for a stranger – or for anyone that matter – is viewed as something odd and different.  As for the recipients … they varied dramatically.  One person shunned us and said no in anger – as if we were pestering them.  On the flip side, another invited us in their home for a drink!  But most had a smile on their face and were pleasantly surprised.  It was a good feeling to make another person smile.

And all the while, Kristin and Justin were having such a great time.  You could tell they enjoyed it.  It made for great conversation and it allowed them to relax in front of the camera.  Its easy to forget your in the middle of an engagement session when interacting with other people.  The nerves calm as you are pre-occupied and not worried about what I am doing.  All I had to do was capture it all.
