Ramiza + Wahaj | Philadelphia Wedding Photographer .. in Dallas

14 years.

The last time it was as cold in Dallas as it was for Ramiza & Wahaj’s wedding was 14 years ago.  In fact, it was colder in Dallas then it was in Philly that 2nd weekend in January.  Fortunately, Wahaj is from Connecticut, so he is used to the cold … same for me living in Philly.  Ramiza, not so much ;)  But she was a trooper and brushed off the cold and did what we needed to.  But just like lots of other weddings with odd weather situations, the wedding went on … and in the end, they were married.  This wedding consisted of 3 beautiful events over 3 days.  The one posted here was on Friday, which was the day of the actual ceremony.

Congratulations Ramiza & Wahaj, we’ll make sure the next time we meet up it is somewhere warm!

Personal | Philadelphia Wedding Photographer

I know that I am extremely fortunate.  I am one of the lucky few that gets to say my career is my passion.  I don’t have a job – I take pictures of life.  To me, there is nothing better.

Along this path, I get many opportunities … traveling, meeting wonderful people, making new friends.  And there is also the business side … learning new tricks, getting new gear, etc.

This post will feature one of both.

Blogged

First, I had the honor of being interviewed by a great camera company, Mamiya.  As life would have it, the Mamiya Blog contacted me a bit ago after seeing some images posted on my blog where I used the Mamiya rz67 camera.  Some time later I was interviewed by them.  Both being interviewed and seeing your comments in print is extremely surreal.  For me, it was a first time for both.

You can check out the full interview here … and here is a screen shot:

As mentioned above, I also have the privilege of traveling.  This time, I got to go to Dallas, TX and photograph a beautiful Indian Wedding.  And while it was the coldest its been in Dallas in 14 years, good times were still had.  Coming from Philly in mid January means I am used to temps around 25F.  But for Dallas, thats not normal and it was big news.  You will be seeing the images from that wedding but I also snagged a bunch of shots with my trusty iPhone and the Shake It Photo app … which i highly recommend getting.

Daniela & Seth | Philadelphia Wedding Photographer

So lets just say it rained on their wedding day.  No, it poured.  Non-stop … for hours.  All due to Hurricane Danny of the coast.  But somehow, we fit the ceremony in.  Yes, it was the quickest ceremony ever … and yes it was on the beach … and yes, HUGE dark storm clouds approached from the south just teasing us with thunder and lighting.  But it happened.  And thats about the last time we did anything outside.  Even when the rain let up for a few minutes and we decided to sneak in some shots on the beach … it realized what we were trying to do and offered up a new round of heavy rain.  Only this time, we were stuck under a tent on the beach … in the pouring rain.  But hey, they’re going to remember it right?  Because of all the rain, we actually got together again after they got back from their honeymoon and did a few extra shots … wouldn’t you know it … the skies looked exactly the same.

This was definitely a wedding i’ll never forget … thats for sure.  Congratulations Daniela & Seth, i wish you a wonderful and happy marriage !!
