When you look at a doppler radar map from the Weather Channel at 5:45am – before dawn – and it shows an enormous storm system over your area, normally you cancel the shoot. Not us! Out in the ocean off the Jersey Shore was Hurricane/TS Danny … and we felt it. We decided to venture out to test it … just to clear our conscience. If it was bad? We would return home. When we got to our first spot it was drizzling – and it was windy – but neither of us were afraid to get wet. So i put the rain gear on my camera … but forgot some for myself … and we went ahead with it. Turns out, rain, wind, clouds, water, and foggy lenses suit me .. ha! Everything was wet or damp and sandy but we all had so much fun. Ellie was a trooper and stuck it out … for that, she is awesome. Her boyfriend Mark, assisted me and he was crazy helpful. I’m very thankful he was there at some points

Really the pictures speak for themselves, if I could find the words to describe just how unbelievable the entire experience working with Mike was, I would. Mike you are an amazing photographer, your talent is a gift. The way you see things is truly unmistakably different then the rest of the world. You are awesome inside and out.

debbie - i know that i’m looking at an amazing blog post when it’s done and i catch my breath. they aren’t just breathtaking in a “oh, these are breathtaking” but breathtaking in a way that while i’m looking at the pictures i’m there, i’m in that moment, i feel the goosebumps on her skin and the sand between her toes, and then i get to the end of the post and…i breathe. amazing.
