Margaret + Harrison. A Boston Public Library Wedding.
I'm not really sure what I had in mind prior to arriving at the Boston Public Library. I guess I pictured it to be like the Philadelphia one, which is average at best. After seeing a bit of the space online I definitely assumed a few things and had some ideas about how it would look but I wasn't prepared for what I actually saw the day of the wedding.
Each year I photograph a wedding or two in Boston and this year was no different. Each time I've gone I've been able to photograph somewhere new - and this time around it was the Library. I was able to scout a little bit the day before but some areas of the library were off limits so I didn't get to take in the whole thing. That is, until the wedding. The library is magnificent. The old architecture, lighting, and courtyard are just phenomenal and it was an absolute pleasure to photograph. I always enjoy great, new venues and the library didn't disappoint.
Margaret and Harrison didn't disappoint either. I didn't have a chance to meet them ahead of time due to location differences but I talked to them several times prior attempting to get an idea of what they were like. They are both wonderful. They, they're friends, and they're families welcomed me into the wedding weekend with open arms and I had a blast hanging out with them for a couple days. And just wait until you see Margaret's dress in the pics below! So sick. I love when I leave a wedding inspired and that definitely happened for this one.
Congratulations Margaret and Harrison. I wish you both all the best!
Also, a huge thank you goes out to my wonderful assistant/2nd photographer that day .. Sarah Der. Several of her pics are included in this post (mostly guys getting ready) and they mesh in well with mine.
