First, I'm going to link you to the Wikipedia page of "The Society of the Cincinnati." It's so awesome. Click here if you have a few minutes to spare.
Now you know how private this place is. When I arrived, I had no idea how incredible it was going to be. The venue is open to the public on certain days so if you ever find yourself in the area, I suggest strolling through.
When Amanda contacted me to photograph her wedding she mentioned loving instant film, and film in general and that the wedding was going to take place outdoors in a cool garden area. I didn't hesitate at booking it. But I was in for a treat because it was much better than I had anticipated.
I'm not sure what I had in my mind prior to arriving but it definitely wasn't what was in front of me. I didn't do much research on the place beforehand and they don't do large amount of weddings to begin with. Whatever I had in my head was based upon conversations with Amanda and Josh. But when I walked in the front door my jaw dropped. It was insane. Once I got over my initial shock I just kept on discovering little amazing nooks. My only regret from the day was that we didn't have enough time to explore even more!!!
The wedding was fantastic. The ceremony took place on marble steps overlooking a pool and garden. The people were wonderful and friendly. The space was beautiful. I left there knowing they were going to end up with wicked pictures. And judging by this response in an email from Amanda, I'd say I was right:
Oh man, these are amazzzzzzzinggggg, Mike!
