The faces of Salon L’Etoile and Spa

I was commissioned by a killer Salon in Manayunk … which is a cool part of Philadelphia.  Its a trendy neighborhood with lots of hometown shops and restaurants.  So when Cathleen, the manager, called me to come in and meet with them I was super stoked.  They wanted some headshots for their new website – but they didn’t want the same old studio headshots.  So we lined up 2 days to photograph roughly 30 staff members for the following week.  It went awesome … I had them doing some crazy stuff … but all in good fun!  So check them out on the web here … they’ll have a new website very soon.

Cool fact about them … they are the official salon for the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders !!

Coming up … a maternity session, a couple portrait sessions, and a wedding!

Soaked, but worth it …

I don’t take on family sessions very often but when I do, I always have a lot of fun.  And while this day was officially “Crazy Downpour Day,” the kids didn’t mind at all and enjoyed every second of it … which in turn creates better pictures.  Tara is the sister of a wedding client of mine, and when we met up I knew she was going to allow me to do a session the way I see best.  We decided to meet at Longwood Gardens which is so awesome.  I never knew it was that beautiful and I will definitely be visiting there in the future.  Since it was raining we spent most of the time in the inside portion which has so many areas you can easily get lost.  The kids were so great and it didn’t take long for them to warm up to me and the camera – and the parents didn’t do so bad either!

So please enjoy the images …and remember, I was fairly soaked taking most of these pics! ha

Is that a Moose?

We took the kids to the Academy of Natural Science down in Philly over the weekend and had a wonderful time.  For some reason, I don’t bring my camera around with me but I decided to take it this time … and I’m thankful I did.  There was so much to see … and it was so exciting engaging in all the history and science … and laugh at the butterflies fluttering around our heads … and my kids had fun too ;)  At one point my daughter said … “Daddy, take a picture of me here” – and she posed against the glass (its the one with the tiger in it).

Anyway … its just a quick break before some mad posting begins … I have TONS of stuff coming up!!

All Kidding Aside …

… Christa & Tim were really serious.  Or not! Even being camera shy, Tim still managed to pull off some amazing stuff.  And Christa just laughed and laughed … you can see immediately how they were meant for each other.  And even though the day was thrown a monkey wrench will thousands of boy scouts camping on the location we had decided on … we still pulled it off.  And even though Tim’s shirt disappeared off the rock he left it on and reappeared completely soaked … we still pulled it off.  And even when Christa’s heels were sinking into the mud along the trail we walked still soaked from the rains the day before … we still pulled it off.

Congrats on the engagement guys … and i’ll be seeing you in September!

You’ll never guess what i have to post next … a family session !!!

Check down at the bottom of this post … i threw in a couple screensavers!

Live from New York …

There was traffic.  There was heat … hovering around 90F.  There was crazy violin playing street performers in a Roman warrior outfit dancing around a girl with pink hair.  There was Tara … my trusty assistant ;) .  And there was Shawn & Laura.  Shawn and I go back about 10 years … Its crazy to think its been that long.  Honestly … time really does fly.  Laura is just so fun … she has an amazing voice even though i’ve never heard it … and she loves gummy candy.  Mmmmm.  Put these 2 together and you’ve got a ton of laughter.

It was an awesome session with some awesome people.  I am proud to call you both friends and I wish you both a wonderful life together.

Oh … and thats me in the center of the first pic.  Can you spot the other 3 people i mentioned above?
